Hungaroring – Hungary

Set in the hills close to the Hungarian town of Mogyoród lies the Hungaroring. Every summer the peace of this quiet setting is disrupted by Formula 1’s visit to the Hungaroring to host the Hungarian Grand Prix, and every summer for the past four years, I have also been there.

The Hungaroring circuit has a very tight and twisty track and almost resembles the layout of a street circuit. This combined with the hot weather of Hungarian summers (and unexpected thunderstorms) and heavy braking zones, leads to exciting and unpredictable races. This track also has a long and special history in Formula 1 as it was the first race to be held behind the USSR’s Iron curtain in 1986.

This is always a Formula 1 event that I look forward to every year. And as a Lewis Hamilton myself, I look forward to it even more as it has been a circuit that he has competed well at, with the most wins of any driver at the Hungaroring.
